Facet 1 - Your CV
Your CV
A well-structured CV will inform the Agent/End User Client of your skills (profession), competency seconds to make sufficient impact for it to make it onto the 'will read further' pile. If it fails to stimulate the Agent/Client sufficiently within that time it will be binned, it’s a hard fact of life. You can download the IFA CV Profile to improve the clarity of your CV or you can get it re-written by Professionals. You can make the difference and make it very easy for an Agency/End User Client recruitment specialist to match you to a Job requirement.
Posting Your CV
It is essential for contract continuity to post your CV with relevant Agencies/End User Clients and to ensure you update your CV on a continuous basis to match your increasing experience, qualifications and training. As IFA is not in competition with Agents, our Job Site portal is complimentary to all users providing direct contact between the Freelancers and Agent/End User Client, unrestricted and without interference. Once your CV is posted you can update it anytime via your password controlled console, you can forward it on to agents/clients and when seeded correctly as per the other steps below, they will find you quicker when they search the IFA CV data base. |
 |
Facet 2 - Profile Key Words / eNotifications
Many Freelancers remain ‘unfound’ on agency or job site databases, there being no facility to seed your CV correctly to more readily match your industry, profession and key skills. Agencies and job sites normally use a word-search facility within their databases that invariably produces extensive listings of freelancers with varying degrees of relevance to the requirement. This is where YOU can get lost in the volume. In Job Diamond, you seed your CV just like seeding a website on the internet; this will dramatically increase your chances of being promoted to the top of any search list. Additionally, we will eNotify you by emails of any Jobs that match your Profile Key Words enabling you to directly contact the relevant Agency/End User Client as soon as the Job is posted. You have now just put yourself at the front of the list by direct action. |
 |
Facet 3 - Availability
Agents spend a lot of time searching their own and other proprietary databases to find suitable Freelancers only to find they are not available or the volume of candidates to large to make a meaning full assessment, this costs them business and is both frustrating and wasteful for them. They are in competition with other agencies to find those Freelancers with the ‘best-fit’ profile. By completing your availability notice on your Job Diamond console, you are letting them know when you will be free from your current contract hence they can forward plan your next assignment; if you are just out of contract you have informed them that you are “Good to Go”, now, you have just put yourself at the top of the list again. Agencies are in a very competitive market with CV’s normally being time stamped upon receipt by End User Clients, they need to know who is 'Good to Go' at short or immediate notice. Unless you spend sufficient time working on this issue you could easily miss out, Job Diamond makes it easy. |
 |
Facet 4 - Video Profile
Video marketing is rapidly becoming a replacement for the front end interview whereby, in conjunction with your profiled CV and for international Freelancers your IFP, it gives both the Agency and End User Client a fuller appreciation of your positive attributes. When a Short list has been generated or an Urgent Job has been posted, this once again puts you at the top of the list. |
 |
Facet 5 - International Freelancer Passport (IFP)
International Agencies/End User Clients are normally against tight placement deadlines and need to assess other key information other than your CV, these can include your professional profile, passport information, driving licence information/restrictions, qualifications, medical fitness/certificate, Visa, Work Permits, insurances, etc. This ability to access them immediately will enable them to mobilise Freelance candidates quickly. Normally only specialist pools of individuals are considered for this but by generating an IFP, this gets you both ready and up-to-date and once again moves you to the top of the list.
Within your IFP you can keep your register of information up to date (the expiry or last update of your documentation). You may also upload some of these documents in strict accordance with the Data Protection Act and Indent Theft and other data protocols. Key documents such as passports etc can however not be held by IFP. |
 |
Facet 6 - Agency Hot List
The Freelance Market is rapidly expanding as new Agent/End User Clients are coming into the world wide market. The IFA Agency listing helps you to identify and evaluate your current and new network opportunities. This function enables you to generate/update an Agency/Client list bespoke to your needs and enables you to market your services and availability in a concentrated manner. Ensure you target with precision not cluster. It is essential for Freelancers to post an accurate CV for consideration by Agencies and End User Clients but you need to be focused. A shotgun approach, sending CV to all and sundry has little value.
Your CV must also be updated on a regular basis; every assignment, every role, every new qualification and skill-set, but keep it short, clear and simple. |
 |
Facet 7 - Search for Jobs
Agents, End User Clients post their Job/Contract Requirements daily on IFA. As these jobs are directly posted by Agents and End User Clients you are in direct contract with them not an intermediary. As an IFA member you are able to search our worldwide Freelancer Job Diamond database, apply for Jobs/Contracts, forward your CV and IFP details. As we have a ‘no conflicts of interest’ policy, we also provide links to specialist job sites and agencies.
Key search features are profession, industry, work location and keyword search. Store your search criteria for fast searches; apply for jobs direct, store jobs you are progressing. Make best use of all the options. |
 |
Facet 8 - Your Network
The power of networking is well-known to seasoned Freelancers where, by building up a network of friends and colleagues, you are able to be kept informed and inform others of your availability and hear of opportunities coming up before they are generally release. It is widely recognized that 40% of Freelancer position are filled this way. This also enables you to find lost friends, old colleagues and past clients (and equally important they can find you too).
|
 |
Facet 9 - IFA Forum
Your voice is important, discuss with other Freelancers what the key issues of the day are, share technical and other information, ask the experts key questions and even share international information including accommodation, restaurants, meeting places and events.
You can also start Technical Forums for the sharing of information and answering queries. |
